WE are preparing for the 2010 Competition season. We will be attending our first competition in March 2010 followed by two more in April 2010. The team members have been working hard and are anxious to begin the season. Thanks to Miss Sakina Ibrahim for helping out the Jazz Team with some choreography. The entire team has worked so beautifully together and we are so proud of your continued growth in the art of dance. We also thank all of the members and their families for their constant support and guidance in assuring that these young dancers learn self-respect, patience, and the most important lesson of all, "you cannot judge your success by the color of your medal, success is built on confidence, grace, self-esteem, and an appreciation for music, dance and just being a part of a wonderful team." For this, I am very proud of all of you!!

2009 Team Members:  Alexis C., Cali G., Abigail M., Yaslin A., Angelina G., Tatyana G., Blake D., and Emma C.

A WORD ABOUT COMPETITION FROM DIRECTOR Carol-Ann Boardway Chapin:  If I were to ask 100 dancers, teachers, and parents what competition means to them, I am certain I would get a large variety of answers. Some only think of the award, some would just love the feeling they receive from being on a stage and doing something they love to do...DANCE. Others might say they love seeing new things, meeting new people, and the excitement.  What I love about competition is the satisfaction I get from watching our dancers light up the stage, knowing that each dancer has worked hard despite the craziness of everyday life. If we as choreographers and parents can encourage our dancers to enter that stage with a smile, confidence, and the will to work to their full potential then we have already won much more than a trophy, ribbon, or plaque. To me competition should be a learning experience, something that we will carry with us forever.
